Tinpazar at ZUCHEX Talks: From Roots to the Future — Craft and Digital Transformation

Anatolia’s heritage of craftsmanship, contemporary design and the new possibilities created by the digital world…

Sema Kısacık, Founder of Tinpazar and LIVARO, joined ZUCHEX Talks for “From Roots to the Future: Women, Crafts and Digital Transformation”, sharing Tinpazar’s seven-year journey and its perspective on the future of craftsmanship.

Today, Tinpazar brings together the work of more than 65 women artisans across over 20 cities in Türkiye under a shared design vision. At the heart of this model is an ambition that goes beyond selling handmade products: connecting Anatolia’s production heritage with contemporary living and creating opportunities for craftsmanship to generate sustainable economic value.

Repositioning Craftsmanship for Contemporary Life

The future of craftsmanship is not only about preserving techniques passed down through generations. It is also about connecting this knowledge with contemporary aesthetics, evolving consumer expectations and the possibilities offered by digital technologies.

This is where Tinpazar’s curatorial approach takes shape. Products are considered not only for how they look, but also for how they are made, which materials are used, who makes them and the production culture they carry forward.

Digital Transformation Is More Than Selling Online

One of the key themes of the conversation was what digital transformation really means for small-scale producers and artisans.

For Tinpazar, digitalisation is not simply about photographing a product and placing it online. Meaningful storytelling, considered visual presentation, accessibility, a trusted shopping experience, the effective use of data and the ability to reach new markets are all part of this transformation.

When used effectively, digital tools can enable a small-scale design created in one corner of Anatolia to reach audiences far beyond geographical boundaries.

Slower, More Meaningful, More Sustainable

Alongside fast consumption, another approach is becoming increasingly visible: people are looking beyond aesthetics and seeking meaning in the objects they choose to bring into their lives.

Who made it?
How was it made?
What materials were used?
What production culture does it carry?

Tinpazar believes in a more considered, slower and more sustainable culture of consumption, where these questions remain visible and become part of the value of a product.

ZUCHEX Talks offered a valuable platform to discuss how craftsmanship is not simply a production practice of the past, but can become a meaningful part of the creative economy of the future when brought together with thoughtful design, curation and digital tools.

At Tinpazar, we continue to bring Anatolia’s production heritage into contemporary life while creating new opportunities for the work of women artisans to gain visibility and generate sustainable economic value.
